We are extremely excited to feature Tim Westergren, Chief Strategy Office & Founder of Pandora who will share his unique insights and advice from his impressive career path, including being listed by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010! He will talk about where the music industry is intersecting with digital, how Pandora has excelled at connecting customers to music, and more. This portion of the event will be moderated by CEO of Newbury Comics, Mike Dreese.
After, Antonio Rodriguez of Matrix Partners will moderate a panel of local music + digital-related companies, including Harmonix, Timbre, Nimbit, and Echo Nest, who will discuss the innovative things they're doing with data, mobile and marketing for music lovers everywhere.

Chief Strategy Officer & Founder, Pandora
Pandora Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Tim Westergren, started the popular personalized radio service in 2000 with the Music Genome Project. Tim is an award-winning composer and accomplished musician with 20 years of experience in the music industry - spanning production, audio engineering, film scoring and live performance. Trained as a jazz pianist, his musical background spans such genres as: rock, blues, jazz and classical music.
Tim received his B.A. from Stanford University, where he studied computer acoustics and recording technology. A musician's musician, he is dedicated to helping talented emerging artists find an audience. In addition to guiding Pandora's overall strategy and vision, Tim now spends most of his time as Pandora's chief evangelist - traveling the country to connect with some of the tens of millions of people who listen to Pandora. He also works extensively with technology partners, distribution partners, advertisers and investors to help shape the future of Pandora and personalized radio.

Mike Dreese is the CEO of Newbury Comics, Inc. He co-founded the company in 1978 – with starting capital of $2,000 and a comic book collection. As an early specialist in the burgeoning new wave/punk music scene, the chain grew explosively, twice in a row being named an Inc. Magazine "Inc. 500" company for rapid growth. Newbury Comics was also named retailer of the year seven times in a thirteen year stretch by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers. It currently operates 28 retail locations in 5 states, as well as the street fashion web site punk.com. The company is a leader in social media engagement, and has seen combined web sales increase in excess of 105% between 2011-2012. In his spare time, Dreese is an avid sailor and poker player, having placed in the money at 7 card stud hi-lo in the World Series of Poker!

Chris currently serves as Vice President, Music & Strategy for Harmonix Music Systems, Inc., the creators of the Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Dance Central videogame franchises. Since its founding in 1995, Harmonix has transformed from an experimental technology company into a multi-million selling hitmaker, fundamentally changing the way people interact with and experience music. Chris holds primary responsibility for cultivating partnerships within the recorded music industry and managing Harmonix's digital content businesses. Harmonix has developed a vast catalog of downloadable music content for both Rock Band and Dance Central that represents the largest collection of downloadable add-on game content available on any of the current major gaming consoles.
Co-founder and CTO of Nimbit
For the past 8 years, Patrick served as Co-founder and CTO of Nimbit, one of the leading direct-to-fan platforms for the music industry, powering fan marketing and e-commerce solutions for 50,000 artists and labels at every level. Nimbit was acquired by PreSonus Audio Electronics in April 2013 and recently Mr. Faucher has taken up a new post as CIO at PreSonus, which provides integrated hardware and software solutions for content creation, recording, mixing and marketing and distribution. He is currently working on their global data strategy. Patrick is a graduate of Boston’s Berklee College of Music and has studied computer science as well as electrical engineering. As a professional musician, he has recorded several albums and performed worldwide in over 20 countries.

Mark has started three successful companies in just three years. As a highly motivated and hard working executive, Mark's goal is to build successful companies in the thriving Boston/Cambridge community, and to help others do the same. He is incredibly skilled at creating positive chaos in his immediate surroundings.
