The 2010 Digital State
With the close of 2009, most would agree that it was a year like no other for the marketing industry. A new presidential administration, economic uncertainty and a worldwide shift in consumer behavior has dramatically shifted the way we leverage and think about media.
For the digital marketing industry, the economic crisis challenged us to create more with less, spawning an overhaul in the way we utilize the digital channel. Among multiple developments, targeting became more targeted, communication became more experiential, measurement became more important, and the social web became mainstream, taking a forefront in presidential campaign communication for the first time in history.
With this evolution, came new challenges for agencies and the clients they support. These challenges will be the focal point of the first BIMA event of 2010.
