BIMA Educational Series Event: The 2009 Digital State
Moderator: Chris Colbert, CEO and Co-Creator, Holland Mark
Panelists: Dave Andonian - Managing Partner, Dace Ventures; Jarvis Coffin - CEO, Burst Media; Ed Montes - Regional Manager, North America, Havas Digital; Tom Simons - President/Creative Director, PARTNERS+simons; Jeffrey Taylor - CEO, Eons, Inc.
The combination of economic, social, and political conditions of 2008 (e.g., the lending downfall, housing market bust, unrest in various countries around the world, oil costs, declining consumer confidence) created a perfect storm of budget cutbacks and layoffs for 2009.
While growth predictions vary greatly, there is no doubt there is a significant opportunity for digital to be and even more important part of the marketing solution in '09. The other good news for internet marketers is that our industry has lived through this type of economy before, and not only survived -- but in the end, thrived.
This year, we'll be inviting a panel of marketing professionals who survived the internet bust of 2001/2002 to share their lessons learned, and to discuss how these lessons can be applied today.
